OVERVIEW

Kingston was responsible for the delivery of a 675 MW Combined Cycle Perlis Independent Power plant/IPP which was delivered through a Consortium of Peremba / Alstom Power.  The Project is based on three Alstom GT13E2 gas turbines exhausting through dual pressure heat recovery system generators, which provide steam to a common dual pressure steam turbine.  The Plant has a net site output of 675 MW with power augmentation in the form of water injection.  The projects also involved the Engineering, Procurement and Supply of a 132 kV and 275 kV switchyard, which was handed over to Tenaga National Berhad (TNB Malaysia’s Power Authority) under the terms of the power purchase agreement upon completion.  Fresh water is drawn from a nearby canal (huge submersed concrete intake) and treated in a water treatment plant before delivery to the site.
