Whitelake Consortium FZC (WLC) has been granted by the Government of Ajman, the sole concession to build and operate the proposed Ajman International Airport (AIA) for a period of 35 years.

OVERVIEW

The Government of Ajman has provided a site to WLC for the airport at Al-Manama, some 60KM east of Ajman City. The site has been officially mapped and documented; the 9KM perimeter is currently being enclosed. WLC is, therefore, now in full possession of two sites, the main site for the airport and a smaller 300,000 square metre site relatively adjacent, together providing 6,806,303.30 square metres of land; they are jointly valued at US$ 340 million. The WLC intention is to operate the project as a Build/ Operate/ Transfer scheme (BOT).

KIC undertakes the management and overview of all On-Site and Off-Site Activities and takes action as appropriate to direct, the Architect (s), the Consultant (s), Engineer (s) and the Contractor (s) where action is required. KIC reviews every aspect of the proposed Initiation, Planning, Procurement, Mobilization and Construction, Testing and Commissioning, Soft Operation and Pre-Opening and the Close-Out stages of the Project and makes required recommendations to the Client and action the agreed approach thereafter.
