OVERVIEW

RAF Brize Norton is about 105 km west north-west of London and is the largest station of the Royal Air Force. The station is home to Air Transport, Air-to-Air refuelling and Military Parachuting, with aircraft operating from the station including the Hercules, C-17 Globemaster, TriStar and VC10.

Kingston worked with the Public Service Agency (PSA) to look at the feasibility of extending the existing facility to allow the closure of smaller runaways. The result of the study was the increase in runaway capacity and the development of additional service buildings to allow the diversification of aircraft types able to operate from the existing facility with the minimum disruption to the flight line.
